Avenues to Independence provides jobs, homes and community living opportunities for adults with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities in the metropolitan Chicago area.
With more than 150 programs at more than 160 locations throughout Cook and Lake counties, Catholic Charities serves virtually every neighborhood and parish in the Chicagoland area. Annually they assist more than 1 million persons in Cook and Lake counties without regard to religious, ethnic, or economic background.
Since 1915, St. Vincent dePaul Center has been serving the needs of the working poor of Chicago at the corner of Halsted and Webster. Sponsored byt eh Daughters of Charity, St. Vincent's provides vital programs and services in the areas of, child development, social services, outreach to at-risk famliies and individuals, and services for the elderly.
WINGS helps homeless and abused women and children by offering integrated services that meet their needs for shelter, education, guidance and support. We provide safe, secure living environments, through transitional housing and emergency shelter, in residential neighborhoods that allow women to go to school, work, and achieve financial and emotional independence.
