Christmas Care Bag Project

We are pleased to offer our parishioners the opportunity to help the homeless and less fortunate in the Chicagoland area this Christmas season by giving them CARE BAGS filled with warm clothing items.


Donation requirements:

Please place the following gender-neutral items in one (1) 2.5-gallon plastic bag:• Winter hat• Warm winter gloves• Scarf• Warm tube socks• One Christmas card signed “St. Paul of the Cross Church”


Please do NOT include food or any other items in the bag.


Free 2.5-gallon plastic bags will be distributed after all Masses on Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23.


Drop-Off Information

(No drop-off at the Kinane Center this year)


Tuesday, December 2 Religious Education/CCD students bring bags to their classrooms for pickup. Bags may also be dropped off in the HFC Kitchen before/during classes.

Saturday, December 6 Before/after the 4:30 p.m. Mass — Church Vestibule

Sunday, December 7 Before/after all Masses — All Church Entrances

Tuesday, December 9 Religious Education/CCD students bring bags to their classrooms for pickup. Bags may also be dropped off in the HFC Kitchen before/during classes.

Saturday, December 13 Before/after the 4:30 p.m. Mass — Church Vestibule

Sunday, December 14 Before/after all Masses — All Church Entrances

Service dates:

November 22 & 23 – Pass out free Ziploc bags after all Masses

December 2 & 9 – Collect and organize bags during after-school and evening CCD classes

December 6, 7, 13, 14 – Collect and organize bags before, during, and after Masses


Volunteers meet in the stairwell by the Holy Family Chapel kitchen.
