TOGETHER WE BRING LIGHT
The 2026 Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) launches this weekend, with next weekend being our commitment weekend. In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus calls His disciples to be salt and light, making God’s goodness visible through their lives (cf. Matthew 5:13–16). Through the ACA, the Church brings Christ’s light to others through education, formation, justice, peace, and respect for life.
Many families in our parish should have already received the ACA mailing from Cardinal Cupich. On behalf of those served by the ministries of the parishes and schools that receive funding from the Appeal, we thank you for your gifts.
The ACA offers us an opportunity to join with others and affirm that “together, we bring light.” In addition to providing for ministries and services throughout the archdiocese, the Appeal funds services that are of great help here in our parish. As we consider God’s many gifts to us, we should also reflect our gratitude by using and sharing those gifts. Your financial support for the work of our parish, our archdiocese, and the Church throughout the world is one way to express that gratitude.
There are many ways to make gifts to the ACA, including the reply form received in the cardinal’s direct mailings, online at annualcatholicappeal.com, in-pew envelopes, telephone (312-534-7959), or by mail (to: Annual Catholic Appeal, 835
North Rush Street, Chicago, IL 60611-2030).
Another thoughtful and practical way to support the Appeal is to donate appreciated securities or mutual funds you have held for more than one year. By donating appreciated assets, you may reduce or eliminate federal capital gains taxes, and you may be eligible for a federal income tax charitable deduction based on the fair market value of the gift. To make a stock donation, visit archchicago.org/stockgiftform and complete the Letter of Intention form.
