New Food Pantry Opens!

To feed the hungry is the first corporal work of mercy. It was given by Jesus when he spoke to his disciples about the Judgement of the Nations, (Mathew 25: 31-46) and it still stands at the top of his list.

Our new food pantry was finally opened on August 28th, 2021! It was a bustling place as we welcomed and served 120 families in person. It was a long time in coming, but our patience and persistence paid off.

Lisa Muench, and her team of volunteers, welcomed our visitors with big smiles, directed them to our new pantry, and helped carry groceries to their cars. It was wonderful to see our old friends and meet some new ones.

Volunteers from the Mother Teresa Guild assisted families through the new pantry, checking them in, offering varieties of soup, canned vegetables, fruit,  pancake mix and syrup, baking supplies, tuna, salmon, chicken, canned meals, cold cereal, paper goods, pasta and sauce, side dishes, peanut butter and jelly, cookies, crackers, beverages, personal items, and a pound of ground beef which they donate to the pantry each month.

This feeding ministry would not be possible without all of you who faithfully donate food and funds to our pantry. Thank you for your generous support. Your hearts for the poor makes it possible for us to assist the less fortunate of our brothers and sisters who are food insecure and need our help. I am exceedingly blessed to work and live among people as you, who put your faith into action.

When Jesus comes in his glory with all of his angels, and sits on his throne, we will be there when he separates the sheep from the goats. The sheep will be put on his right and inherit the kingdom. How great is that? "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat."

Adrienne Timm, Director of Social Service Ministry
