Our Ladies of Angels Mission

The Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, in West Humboldt Park, is a big part of our parish stewardship outreach. Volunteers from St. Paul of the Cross go there on the first Saturday of every month, to help distribute food to the neighborhood, with The Greater Chicago Food Depository. Over 250 households are currently being served. Our volunteers have helped clean and renovate the rectory, Kelly Hall, the newly rededicated convent and now the actual church. Our Holy Family Guild works to maintain the food pantry there. Cardinal Frances George has long wished for a strong Catholic identity to be restored in that neighborhood since parishioners began to move away little by little after the fire. If you would like to know more about The Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, please go to www.themissionofourladyoftheangels.comm. St. Paul of the Cross Mission Statement: As children of God, living in a Catholic community of faith, we are united by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Aware that all we have is gift and grace from our Heavenly Father, we strive to give of our time, talent and treasure to build His kingdom on earth. We live this mission, challenged by the Word, nurtured by the Sacraments, and enlivened by the Spirit, to serve our brothers and sisters in peace, justice and dignity. All are welcome on this journey.
