St. Paul Youth Group Park Ridge

About SPY (St. Paul Youth)
The youth group keeps teens involved in the Church during their High School years.

What Do We Do?
We Serve Food, Share Faith, Serve others and have fun!
When Do We Meet?
We have a meeting the second Sunday of the month from 6-8 pm in Duffin Hall and the gym.

When are the Teen Masses?

We have two teen masses a month. The first Sunday of the month is 10:30am, downstairs in the Holy Family Chapel.Teen Mass the third Sunday of the month is upstairs at noon. The teens serve as lectors, altar servers, Eucharistic ministers and help usher. The teens do the music. The band has progressed from a guitar and a couple of singers to a dozen singers, pianists, violinists, multi guitars, drums and a saxophone. Every year the band changes, because the talent changes. Teens are always welcome to join in and help us.

Past Projects:
Some of our previous service projects have included: Habitat for Humanity, The Halloween Brunch and Christmas Parties for St. Mary of Providence, Collecting and sending hundreds of pounds of goods to the soldiers in Iraq, Collecting Christmas presents, making blankets and furnishing apartments for the families at the Lawndale Academy on the Westside of Chicago. We have helped at Our Lady of the Angels mission and made and served food at our Sunday Soup Supper. We have helped at Amate house and Catholic Charities.
These are just some ideas of our service projects. These teens are always ready to help where they are needed. The most unique and wonderful part of this community is that the families also come together to help. As one of the nuns at St. Mary's always reminded us," Many hands make light the work".

St. Paul of the Cross Mission Statement: As children of God, living in a Catholic community of faith, we are united by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Aware that all we have is gift and grace from our Heavenly Father, we strive to give of our time, talent and treasure to build His kingdom on earth. We live this mission, challenged by the Word, nurtured by the Sacraments, and enlivened by the Spirit, to serve our brothers and sisters in peace, justice and dignity. All are welcome on this journey.
