School Scholarship Fund May 22

The extra Sunday envelope collection on the weekend of May 21 and 22 will go toward the St. Paul of the Cross School Scholarship Fund. As you know, one of our top priorities continues to be keeping Catholic education affordable for all families choosing a Catholic education for their children. However, affordability is a relative term. Many families have been hit hard by this prolonged recession. In the 2010-2011 school year alone, we were able to provide financial aid to 25 families which helped to educate 46 children. Here is what one of our beneficiaries had to say: "Value placed on the scholarship year goes beyond the financial! Yes it allowed us to keep our kids in SPC, but also while we were stressed about both of our layoffs, the kids didn't need to stress about a new school. They felt safe, and we as a whole felt cared for and supported, which I believe gave us the energy to dedicate to 'fixing' our situation." St. Paul of the Cross School works with Private School Aid Service (PSAS), a third party provider used by many of the local Catholic schools, to help us to determine the amount of financial assistance school families should receive. This amount is, however, limited by the amount of scholarship funds we have available. Thank you for considering a gift to help us build this much needed scholarship fund.

Sincerely,
Mary Ploen

The school provides an education of the highest standards while embracing each child within a Roman Catholic tradition. The strong academic foundation begins in PreSchool, develops in the Primary grades and builds throughout students’ years at St. Paul. The strength of our school is fostered by the collaboration with the school community, which utilizes parent skills and knowledge and provides venues for enhanced student learning and an appreciation of others.
